NBG Supporters' Association

Registered No. Y2701046 under the Associations Incorporation Act 1984 of NSW

Supporters' BBQ and NBG Lucky Draw
Next BBQ: Friday November 21, 6:30pm
Hosted by WAG Squad 8

The Northern Beaches Gymnastics Supporters' Association Inc. was formed on the 30th October 1997, for the sole purpose of providing financial assistance to those gymnasts who have risen to competition level within the club. The Association is financially independent of Northern Beaches Gymnastics Club, however it has established an excellent working relationship with the administrative and coaching staff.
Everyone enjoys the great BBQ

Our fund raising efforts include the monthly BBQs with the lucky members draw, which have been a tremendous success, particularly the Asian, Italian, and 'Christmas in July' theme nights. We would like to thank everyone for their great support. The BBQs are held on a Friday evening each month. The exact Friday depends on the weather, school holidays, or competitions... so keep an eye on the website for the exact date. Each squad is asked to assist on a particular night and a roster has been developed and is available below

The Melbourne Cup trifecta competition held each November is proving to be our most successful fund raiser and we ask that each athlete assist by selling the tickets that are given out.

We are fortunate to have such a great and talented group of athletes at the club and the winning of both the WAG and MAG National Club Championships in 2006 speaks for itself. In addition we had over 50 athletes compete at the NSW State Championships, 15 athletes qualify to represent NSW at the Australian Championships and 3 athletes selected to represent Australia at competitions in Perth and New Zealand in 2006. In 2007 we had 14 Athletes compete at the National Championships in Brisbane with 2 athletes chosen in the Australian Levels Team to compete in South Africa plus 1 athlete to compete at the University Games in Thailand.
All of these competitions come at a cost to the families of the athletes and we do our best to minimise these costs as much as possible. Over the past 3 years we have been able to contribute in excess of $30,000 to the families of these great and talented athletes.

With the opening of the new Pittwater Sports Centre the 2007 results are continuing to grow and there will be even more of the athletes achieving club, state and national representation. If we are to continue at least the same level of subsidies to the ever increasing number of athletes, we will need all the assistance we can get from as many parents as possible. So please do not be shy, come and get involved.

The Supporters' Association meets on a regular basis (every two months and coincides with the squad BBQ) to discuss how we are going financially, what events are coming up and what we need to do to ensure the next function is a success. Everyone is welcome to attend so please check on the website for the next meeting and come along.
