Kindy Gym (45 Minutes)

Our Kindy Gym program is the most reputable in Australia, under the direction of Gai Forrest who was NSW Kindergym Co-ordinator for five years.
In these classes, the gym is set up in a safe, yet challenging environment so children from the ages of 18 months up can explore, experiment, and achieve with the support of their parents/carers.
Our aim is to make learning fun while teaching the concepts of movement. The emphasis is on assisting development of fine and gross motor skills, and enhancing hand/eye co-ordination.  Kindy Gym is the basis for all sports, teaching children important skills while developing their overall coordination.
Our Kindy Gym program provides young children with the opportunity to explore many forms of movement through the use of a wide range of equipment, as well as some funky music and songs too!
Parent participation is essential. Your role will be to encourage and support your child throughout the lesson.

The lessons are 45 minutes and the format is as follows:

  • Free Play: 10–15 minutes of free play— the gym will be set up differently each week, offering new learning skills and problem solving activities.
  • Group time: All children, parents/carers, and coaches come together on the floor shapes to do warm-up activities, our special “days of the week” song, basic skills such as correct landing techniques, and action songs and activities incorporating our theme for the week.
  • Apparatus time: The children are free to explore the apparatus circuit, and coaches will be there to assist the main learning skills on different stations.
  • Cool down: A get-together on the floor shapes where we concentrate on fine motor skills and sing our goodbye song.

Kindy Rec (45 Minutes)
Our Kindy Rec programmes were developed as an “in-between” class between Kindy Gym and Recreation.
In our popular Kindy Rec classes, children are aged 4–5yrs. This is a structured class.    Children come in to the gym and warm up for 10–15 minutes, learning basic skills and body shapes.
Children are then placed into small groups and will do three apparatus stations each week. These apparatus change each week and include all Olympic apparatus such as beam, bars, parallel bars, floor, rings as well as long trampoline, pit, mini tramp and much more.
A game or fine motor skill activity is done as cool down at the end of each class.
This class is for children that are socially and physically ready to separate from parents.
