Kayak Fun
NBG is pleased to announce a new service to members.
  We now have kayaks for hire at a discount rate for NBG members— $11 for 2 hours.
  Please book at the NBG front office. Any user will need to leave a $250 credit card deposit as security.
  Any child under 12 will need to be supervised by an adult.
  Life jackets are compulsory for any child under 12 yrs. Life jackets are supplied free of charge.
  The kayaks are stored near the back BBQ area. There is direct access to the lake from there.
  We are also offering “Kayak Birthday Parties”, offering the use of the BBQ area as well.
  We hope many families take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!

Please be advised that every gymnast must be re-booked for Term 1, 2009. There is no rollover of positions.

Good luck to all WAG Gymnasts competing at the 2008 WAG Levels 6-10 State Championships on the weekend.
   The State Championships are being held at the Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre in Jacksons Road both Saturday and Sunday.
   A great opportunity to pop in and see a State Championships in action and support NBG gymnasts.

NBG will be holding a MAG and WAG Intermediate and Advanced Recreation competition on the 22nd November. This competition is open to all gymnasts in intermediate and advanced recreation classes.
   This is a great opportunity for you to come along and see how your child is progressing and find out a little more about the sport of gymnastics.
    There will also be some displays from our high level and élite athletes.

We have now introduced our new 'Play & Movie Nights' for the lead-up to the holiday season.  This is a great opportunity for parents to attend functions or shop or simply get organised for the busy time and know the children are safe and having lots of fun.

A new Aerial Class has been introduced on a Friday evening from 5.30-6.30pm.  The new Aerial Class on Tuesday evening has been a great success and is now booked out. If you wish to book for the Friday class, please call 9913 7421.

The GCA Cup was a fantastic event last weekend.  Thank you to gymnasts from Airborne Gymnastics from Wagga and Canberra City Gymnastics for travelling so far to compete and ensuring it was a success.  Results(PDF)>>>

The GCA Cup will be held this Sunday at Northern Beaches Gymnastics for our WAG Levels 1-6 so drop by to see some fantastic gymnastics. 
   Most gymnastics competitions are held a fair distance away, so this is a great opportunity for friends and family to support the gymnasts at a great competition held close to home.

The 2008 WAG Levels 1-3 State Championships was held last weekend and the girls had great results with the 1A Junior Northern A team taking home the Bronze (Lucy Tompson, Lucy Redfern and Skye Nankervis) and the 2A team (Georgia Etherington and Imogen Simonik) coming in 1st. Congratulations to all the girls who competed. You did a great job!

This weekend the NSW State Championships for WAG Levels 1-3 will be held at the Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre off Jacksons Road at Warriewood.
  This is a great opportunity to see young aspiring gymnasts competing at State Championships so feel free to pop down and have a look.
   Northern Beaches Gymnastics gymnasts have already competed in a couple of trials to qualify as members of the Northern Region Teams. 
  We wish you the best and hope you enjoy your State Championships.

It is the season for ilness so we remind all parents and guardians to not bring sick children or their siblings to the gym. At NBG we have a duty of care to all members to provide a healthy environment therefore children displaying signs of illness may not be permitted to participate in their class.

Congratulations to Ben Wood and Ashley Barkle for their results in the Senior level at the Australian Championships in Melbourne last weekend.
   Ben came 3rd on pommel, 6th overall and Ashley came 3rd on vault.
   Ashley was selected to compete on vault in the in Apparatus Challenge.
   The NSW team came 2nd overall

With the cooler mornings and evenings please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for travel to and from the gym and their program. Gymnasts are encouraged to remain inside the Pittwater Sports Centre at the end of their programs, especially in the evenings.
