Kids FitNastics - An Overview

FitNastics is home to only Pittwater Sports Centre in North Narrabeen, FitNastics the fitness program with a gymnastics philosophy which everyone has been talking about.  FitNastics has been developed in Northern Beaches Gymnastics with over 20 years of industry experience; it was designed by a fully qualified PD/H/PE teacher in conjunction with the industry’s best gymnastics coaches.  Furthermore, FitNastics comes highly recommended by doctors and occupational therapists because of the wealth of benefits it provides to the participants. FitNastics not only increases strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness, it teaches children overall body management skills, which can help improve posture, balance, spatial awareness, and coordination.   

 

Because FitNastics is something that every child needs, our programs accommodate to all ages and abilities.  Each child which enters our program will have the opportunity to do a trial class or get skill tested to see which program they will fit comfortably into.  From there, children will work towards achieving the program goals of the classes they are in under the instruction of supportive and highly trained coaches who are passionate about making sure each individual child is developing through the term while being a part of the amazing world of FitNastics!  

 

FitNastics is more than a catchy name, it is an enormous leap in the right direction for building healthy, active, and positive lifestyles for the program participants.

Fundamentals

FUNdamentals classes are the stepping stone to the fantastic world of FitNastics.  In FUNdamentals, novices will learn the basics of FitNastics and begin to fall in love with sport.  The classes are co-ed and will use both men’s and women’s gymnastics apparatus focusing on improving fine and gross motor skills.  Beginners come in all ages and sizes so we will offer both a Junior and  Senior division of fundamentals

Junior FUNdamentals is 45 minutes in duration and is suitable for children who are at school ages 5 years old through 7 years old.

Senior FUNdamentals is 60 minutes in duration and is suitable for children who 8 years old and above.

Gym Pros

Gym Pro(ficient)s classes are for those children who know their way around the gym and have become proficient in the basics skills.  Gym Pros dives deeper into the world of FitNastics working specifically on men’s or women's apparatus.  Gym Pros leads the FitNasts into bigger challenges, working on routines, and perfecting the basics.  There are junior and senior divisions of the Gym Pros.

Junior Gym Pros  is 75 minutes in duration and is suitable for children who are at school ages 5 years old through 7 years old.

Senior Gym Pros  is 75 minutes in duration and is suitable for children who 8 years old and above.

Gym Champs

Gym Champs classes are calling all FitNasts who love doing routines, pushing themselves to learn even more, and soar to new heights!  It is strongly recommend that children in this program also enrol in at least one Power Hour class per week, as skills at this calibre are often dependent on strength, flexibility, and higher levels of fitness.

Gym Masters

Gym Masters classes are for those FitNasts who cannot get enough of the gym.  The Gym Masters program is only for those highly skilled FitNasts who would like to continue advancing on their floor and apparatus skills.  Gym Masters classes have a friendly competitive spirit, in daily lessons the FitNasts will challenge themselves against their peers to land the best skills or perform the best routines!  Gym Masters requires all participants to enrol in at least one Power Hour class per week.  Gym Masters is 120 minutes in duration.

  SPECIALTY CLASSES  

Flipz & Trix

Flipz & Trix is designed for those who want to learn show stopping stunts in a safe environment!  The class focuses on aerial stunts and tumbling utilising the sprung floor, foam pit, and various trampolines.  These classes attract many young surfers, snowboarders, skaters, dancers, or cheerleaders who want to improve their aerial tricking, such as 180 and 360 twists! 

 Flipz & Trix Preens is 60 minutes long boys and girls must be between the ages of 8 years old and 11 years old.

 Flipz & Trix Teens is 90 minutes long and strictly for children12 years old and above

Flip Out

Flip Out is an intense, high flying  class focusing on advanced level tumbling.  Participats must be at least 12 years old to be in the class.  Flip Out is 90 minutes in duration.

Power Hour

Power Hour classes are full of energy and fun, it is a circuit style classes in which coaches motivate  the children to push themselves to safe levels.  This class helps children improve the 5 key components of fitness: muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, and body composition while safely working under the guidelines of the F.I.T.T. (Frequency Intensity Time Type) principle. This class is for those children who want to be GYM FIT!  Children must be at least 10 years old or enrolled in Gym Champs or Gym Masters classes.  Power Hour is 60 minutes in duration.

Adult Gymnastics

 

How can Adult Gymnastics classes benefit you?  Here are a few ways...

 Gymnastics is a sport that incorporates the essential training principals to ensure a healthier and more active lifestyle.  Touching upon muscular endurance, muscular strength, body conditioning, flexibility and agility gymnastics classes will show you results.  From beginner through to more advanced skills, the principal of the class is to let all capabilities the chance to experience flipping through the air and balancing on your hands.At the fully equipped Pittwater Sports Centre, home of Northern Beaches Gymnastics, the classes range from ages 16 years of age upwards and are run every Wednesday night from 7.30pm – 9.00pm.  If you would like more information please contact Yusuf Topari, Northern Beaches Gymnastics Men’s Program Manager at yusuf@nbg.com.au.
