G'day from the U S of A!
We arrived after a good flight... only 13 hours of movies, plane cuisine, claustrophobic seating, and the medieval USA immigratration system (ie: 400 passengers disembarking and two Yanks trying to process all us Aussies!)
We arrived at our accomodation in Culver City at 7am, where staff bent over backwards to fit us all in our rooms... even though check-in wasn't until 3pm. We dozed and relaxed until lunchtime, then all the kids and chaperones headed over to the local mall for a healthy lunch of chicken teriyaki and tuna sandwiches.
Then, what an adventure! Off to Anaheim for some serious retail therapy at Shoe Express. Luckily, the shop was still open by the time we got there, and some definite credit card damage was done! All kids were happy with their new purchases!
Dinner was at the Buffet Express where all kinds of cuisines were available. All the kids even mingled with the restaurants mascot "Buzzy Bee". What a cutie!
The trip home in peak-hour traffic, in the dark, was, as Smitty's dad would say, "an adventure... it's always exciting to find new ways to get home!" But we got home, put the kids to bed, and planned our next exciting excursion, Disneyland, which awaits us tomorrow!
THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO!!!
Yours truly,
Miss Gai (as they call me here!) |
